The eastern caldera houses a complicated cave system, and a portion of these caves have been converted into workplaces and housing for "all the Crafts," though mainly Healer, Woodcraft, and Harper are represented here.

The Records Rooms are a large complex attached to the Crafthall Complex. The traditionalist faction has slowly been pilfering records from Weyrs, Crafthalls, and Holds around Pern.

Fat and L-shaped (or perhaps <-shaped), Timor Lake is named for the smaller of Pern's two moons. It rarely freezes over entirely due to geothermal springs deep at the base of the lake.

To the north and upslope of Timor Lake can be found a series of hot springs and mud pots, forming pools of heated mineral water and heated mineral mud. Water seeps downslope towards the lake.
