Perhaps now would be a good time came the prodding words from her mindmate. Aryna sighed from where she was floating serenely in the water, staring up at nothing. Idly she splashed a few drops up onto her belly before straightening and placing her feet under her once more. Ejjarth fidgeted on his ledge impatiently as his rider disappeared beneath the water again to give her hair a thorough rinse, resurfacing a moment later.
I’m not in any rush, why are you?
It was an official summons.
Rolling her eyes, Aryna got out of the water and gave her hair a hard twist, wringing the excess water out. To yell at us, no doubt. And his timing is unfortunate… for him. I am not going to rush away from my bath on his whim. Nevermind that her bath hadn't even started until she'd received the summons. Tossing her hair over her shoulder, the bluerider went striding toward her weyr with droplets of water still clinging to her skin. If the chill in the air bothered her then she gave absolutely no indication. She hadn't been kidding when she’d said she wasn’t in a rush; Aryna took her sweet time choosing her clothes and putting them on, leaving her dragon to huff and flap his wings impatiently.
But finally she was ready, and with her hair unbound and still very damp, Aryna climbed astride her blue and they took off for the central caldera where Kes’len was awaiting them… no doubt as impatiently as Ejjarth had been waiting for his rider. Even when they reached their destination, she was in no hurry, noting the presence of Ev’ryn’s brown as Ejjarth flew off to join him; so Ev was already inside getting ‘the treatment’, was he? It was all she could do to keep a grin from sprouting on her face as she wondered how the brownrider was handling himself. Maybe this would be more fun than she’d initially thought; it was always more interesting when one was in trouble with company… especially good company.
If anything, that thought quickened her pace slightly and she arrived in what passed as an office within a few brief moments. Ignoring the yelling that she’d interrupted by her (very late) arrival, Aryna nodded a silent greeting to Ev’ryn before helping herself to a seat. And immediately propping her feet up on Kes’len’s ‘desk’. “Weyrleader. You wanted to see me?” It was made plain by her tone and the way she arched her brows as she looked up at him that she was not going to make this meeting easy. Then again, when did Aryna ever make anything easy on anyone?
