Appearance: With skin the color of cream, it would be hard to tell that Ellix spends any time in the sun, let alone toils away in the fields and works outside. She would tell you, however, that during the short summer time, that same skin refuses to tan, and instead only burns and becomes blotchy, which leads her to wear long skirts, tunics, and hats to cover up her sensitive skin. In the colder months, it's easier for her to work and stay the same shade year round. She is blessed with an easy complexion like the rest of her family, for she has no freckles or blemishes on any part of her skin. It does, however, get dry very easily in the winter and she often has to cake on cold cream.

Ellix stands at a reasonable 5'6", making her short enough to not make men uncomfortable, but also not considered "short". Her limbs were gawky as a teenager, but she's grown into them just enough to be normal again. She has very little fat on her bones and her lack of curves show for it, but she finds that her muscles are more worthwhile to have anyway. Her fingers are hardened with calluses from growing up on a farm, despite working cold cream into them every night. She had to train herself to stop biting her nails, but even so, she keeps them as short as they can be.

Brown tresses that have only a slight wave to them frame her heart-shaped face. She usually keep her hair tied back in a cord, but she sometimes braids it. She's even perfected braiding her hair into a crown around her head, which she does only when she goes to market. Her eyes are a crisp shade of blue, and they seem to almost pop out of her light face at times, particularly if she is wearing anything to match them.

Personality: Some people are just born to be busy, and Ellix just so happens to be one of them. She hates not being able to do anything, often looking for busy work to do. Otherwise, she starts getting fidgety and grumpy. It's easy for her to handle on the farm, since there is always so much work to do, but when she falls ill, she hates having to stay in bed. Her parents, in fact, always joked that they would have to strap her down to make her better.

On the flip side, working all the time has given her a very strong work ethic. She never complains about "too much work". In her mind, there is no such thing. Without lots of work, Ellix has trouble going to sleep each night. Whenever she hears anyone complain about work, she automatically assumes a bad opinion of them, taking them to be complainers.

Ellix isn't the type of person to get angry. She is very reserved, taking whatever people give her. It's easy to think of her as a pushover, but if someone pushes her a little too far, she will snap and suddenly turn very nasty. Afterwards, she'll be very contrite about her behavior, but she'll forever hold a grudge against whoever pushed her to her limit.

In general, though, she is a pleasant person to be around, even if she may be more serious and less spontaneous than other people. She is kind to those she meets and is easy to get along with. She has a soft spot for children, though she can't see herself having any without having settled down into a stable life first. Above all else, that is her one dream in life: Stability, just as she'd grown up with.

Background: Ellix was born on a very small farming hold on the mountains outside of of Orro, tucked away enough to avoid politics and scandal. Her parents were able to raise their children blissfully, tithing when appropriate and going to the market when they had to. Their four children knew of dragons, of course—they'd learned their Teaching Ballads. But they also knew that the world didn't involve them. All that their world involved was farming.

Ellix, the youngest girl, was particularly good with the herdbeasts and milchbeasts, and all things dairy. At an early age, she was churning butter daily. Soon, she was making her own cheese and selling it whenever her family went to Orro, using it to buy little luxuries, like fabric that was dyed blue.

As Ellix grew, however, she knew that she needed to figure out what she was going to do with her life. Obviously, she would farm, but she couldn't stay on her family's farm forever. Her eldest brother Elixy was set to inherit the farm, and her other brothers were becoming journeymen in tanning. Ellix needed to find a suitable man to marry.

Each time she went to Orro, she went with a new plan: To find a man with a plot of land, a good heart, and a desire to start a family. She was no stranger to hard labor, and was actually keen on the idea of starting up a little ranch hold from scratch with a mate. She started creating fantasies of a new little home with a man who she'd never even met, raising up fowl, herdbeasts, runnerbeasts, milchbeasts, and growing enough wheat and vegetables to support her family.

Now as she grows older, she's feeling the pressure. She is still making her fine cheeses, but now she tucks away the money from it to spend on her future farm. All she needs now is a husband to help her with it... or perhaps something else unexpected will throw itself across her path.
