Information
So Valentine's Day is just around the corner, and I thought it would be a perfect chance to host our first contest! This will be a writing contest, and as such, you will be asked to... well, write xD
How this is going to work is, you submit something written by your character to their... spouse, boy/girlfriend, crush... anything! It can be a card idea, or a poem, or a love letter. You can set any mood you'd like with it, so long as it pertains to the subject of love or being in love, and it's in-character. Even dragons are welcome to submit a little something for their someone shiny
Prizes
The part everyone wants to know about, right? ;D
First place winner will receive their choice of either:
2 unhatched eggs
-OR-
An ancient artifact found in Iernian territory
Second place winner will receive their choice of either:
1 unhatched egg
-OR-
15 sand dollars
NOTE: Please note that all prizes will be determined ahead of time. What this means is that the winner of the respective prize does not get to choose the prize "result"; i.e. eggs will hatch out into predetermined creatures in predetermined colors and "free passes" will be of a type chosen by the staff. Randomizers or dice may be used to determine prize type in order to ensure fairness.
Rules
1. Entries MUST be from the character's perspective! This is an "in-character" contest, and any entries that are not strictly from the character's point of view will be disqualified and removed.
2. Obviously, all entries must be your own. They will be checked, and any form of plagiarism found will reap serious consequences.
3. You may enter up to two submissions per character. That being said, you aren't required to submit something from every character.
4. Submissions may be in any form; poetry, love letters, or even little "card" sayings are all perfectly acceptable! If it's from your character, directed at their crush/love of their life, it's a valid entry.
5. If you character isn't actually 'crushing' on anyone right now, feel free to just randomly make up a technically non-existent NPC. We won't tell.
6. Entries cannot be directed toward a character's dragon! Yes, technically dragons are the loves of their riders' lives. But this is a Valentine's Day contest, not a Dragon's Day contest!
7. Your entry can be as well-written and moving or as silly as you like. This is by no means a serious contest! If your forte is comedy and your character is a bumbling deadglow, give us your worst!
8. Dragons are not exempt from this contest! Although riders can't direct their writings to their dragons and vice versa, if your dragon is having a little crush on someone else's shiny, then by all means have them compose a love poem
9. This contest will be closed on Monday, Feb. 14. It will be judged by myself, Tiddles, and ??. Winners will be announced as soon as agreements are made.
10. Most of all... HAVE FUN
