Like Pernese Dragons?
Like Electricity?
Well, we've got both![/i]
Information[/u][/SIZE]
Kraellos is a non-canon weyr set in the year 2,880.
Set after the de-activation of AIVAS, Kraellos is a small, newly established weyr focusing on the development of technology, the pursuit of higher education, and the desire to understand the world at a level never before achieved. Research is currently underway, including expiriments with genetics, steam-powered engines, medicine, and much more, that has begun to revolutionize Pern and bring its people into a new age. However, this comes with great risk, as in the past, many experiments have ran afoul, causing lives to be lost, resources to be polluted or wiped out, and a lack of fertility and strange, very rare sport colors to appear in dragons.
Calden Weyr, Kraellos's parent weyr, controls most of the scientific processes and development throughout Pern. Dragonmen and their lifemates now serve as guards to the weyrs, where the brightest and most creative scientists reside, while also serving as council to important decisions and natural disaster relief. Without a doubt, times are changing drastically, and without the presence of Threadfall, the purpose of the weyr has become rather vague. Calden's senior weyrwoman and her gold, Havitath, seem to be hiding something. Kallah and her gold, Asynth, or Kraellos, have no real choice but to comply with the much more powerful weyr.
But is the development of new technologies really as beneficial as it is made out to be? How will the Pernese people be able to adapt to such rapidly changing environments? Is thread really gone forever, and if so, where does the fate of the dragonmen lie?
