Weyrling & Candidate Rules
Candidates
1. Candidates must be sound of mind and body. They cannot be blind, deaf, chronically or terminally ill. This includes women and girls who are pregnant. Likewise, they can’t have any ‘disorders’. Dragons will not choose someone who is sadistic and cruel.
2. On Hidden, there are no "official" chores, though Candidates are expected to help when requested. Likewise, there are no lessons, excepting for remedial Harper lessons (these do not need to be RPed). Therefore, it shouldn’t be that hard to keep your candidate active.
3. Really very little is asked of candidates. They are expected to help out with the day-to-day chores, and to take rotations on “egg duty” for the clutch. Aside from this, they are free to do as they please (within reason of course).
4. Candidates may live where they please. The only time they will be elsewhere is when they’re on Victory Rock or the South Run Hatching Grounds for a rotation of clutch tending.
5. Because Candidates will regularly handle the eggs, there will be no formal Touchings.
6. Candidates must be between the ages of 12 and 26.
Weyrlings
1. Lessons are held three times a week, while training is daily. These are not directly RPed (see weyrling lesson plan). Weyrlings are expected to flesh out their knowledge on their own.
2. Weyrlings have to be on their feet at all times. Their main chores will be hunting and gathering... and not being seen while doing both.
3. It is still expected of Weyrlings to take diligent care of their dragons.
4. Living on the islands or in the South is a tough life; weyrlings will not have their hands held. They will be expected to learn how to not only keep themselves alive but their dragons also.
5. It is expressly forbidden to mount or fly your dragon before it is officially allowed. Once pairs have taken to the skies, they are required to fly sweeps.
6. On top of sweeps, weyrlings are also expected to take their turns at being the lookouts.
7. There is to be no sexual activity among weyrlings for the first 10 months. If you have a dragon who has not yet reached maturity, you are limited to hand-holding and nothing more.
