Our Button:
Valyrium Weyr; One Weyr, Divided
Two Turns ago, and the people of two Weyrs were at each other's throats. Literally. And then, one thing tipped each Weyr and the frist ever War on Pern began. It didn't last long though. Many were killed, most were injured. Those that remained, left their old Weyrs and found a new site for a new Weyr.
The remaining Riders and Weyrfolk, and even the Holders, left their old lives behind to begin anew. Once they settled into their new home, the tension was so palpable it could've been cut with a blade. After much debate from both sides, a name was finally settled on. Taking a few letters from the opposing Weyrs, they came up with the name Valyrium. And that is what the new Weyr became known as, Valyrium Weyr.
But now, there is a new challenge for them on the horizon. This Weyr has no Weyrleader or Weyrwoman. Which of the five Queen's will rise first and make her Rider the Senior Weyrwoman? And which of the many male dragons will win the honor to be the Senior Queen's mate? There is no telling what will happen over the course of the following months.
Certainly, there may be a hint or two in the air as Shadow-Silver Voradith has become quite a bit more shimmery and shiny than usual, not to mention that Gold-Bronze Ranyth is tetchier and moodier as of late. Could this mean that not one, but TWO Clutches are on the way?
Why not join and find out? Or better yet, join and take part in Valyrium Weyr's unfolding History!
In a terrible clash between two weyrs, many lives were lost. Out of the ashes those that survived were barely enough to make a single weyr once again. Tensions still ride high and disagreements are common. Two turns have passed since the great war finally reached its climax and many things have changed.
The first change came in the appearence of a Blue mutation. Always female these dragons were called Violets and another mutation, this one from Whites, came in the slightly larger Silvers. The final mutation came when a queen egg revealed a stunningly dark dragoness. This 'Shadow Queen' was capable of clutching and became a lesser queen of the weyr. When the Shadows mutated and came out male they were called Blacks. Then the most suprising change came when a distinctly orange shaded female dragonet was born. These were Coppers and very outgoing and different from many before them.
Now adays, tensions are at an all-time high and none can quite seem to agree on much of anything. The most distinct of these disagreements comes in the form of the new weyr's name. To this day it remains nameless with each side calling it something different.
What will happen with this fledgling weyr remains to be seen. But with no real leaders and none within agreeing, things look like they could take a turn for the worst.
In a strange turn of events, the riders of the merged weyr finally agreed on a way to decide the name. By merging the names of the two weyrs that came before, a name was decided and agreed upon. The weyr was now Valyrium Weyr!
