Q: Can I play an ex- pirate / rogue / smuggler / etc?
A: Yes!! In fact, we encourage these types of characters. There's not a lot of information up about them yet (a guide is in the works), so just ask an admin for information on the history and lifestyle, or a player who has a similar character to what you're interested in making.
Q: Does the Archipelago count as a "Weyr"?
A: A Weyr is a location in which a breeding population of dragons live in close proximity. Traditional Weyrs are located in old volcanoes with extensive cave systems. The Hidden riders counted the Archipelago as their "Weyr" until the attacks by the traditional Weyrs. Now it is little more than an outpost.
Q: What is a mercenary or rogue dragonrider?
A: Mercenary dragonriders are pairs which have an official "home Weyr" to which they tithe, but hire themselves out as guards, etc. for ships, caravans, Holds, and the like. Rogue dragonriders, on the other hand, are entirely free agents who may or may not be friendly towards Weyr and Hold. Rogue dragonriders may live off the land, work with pirates, or be mercenary riders without a home Weyr.
Q: What's up with firelizards / dragonets / etc?
A: Firelizards and dragonets (commonly referred to as "flits") were thought to be legend until they were rediscovered in the Archipelago. Northerners have no idea of their existence while southerners and pirates are familiar with them.
Q: How do I get involved in plots?
A: It's not that hard -- we love to see people get involved in plots! If there's something you'd like to do or see, you can either contact administration via PM, or you can try and get it done yourself ICly. For instance, want to contact dolphins? Go out and try, and the admins will reply with the environment. Want to set up outriders at South Run? Go thread with a caldera leader and try and convince them!
