Roleplaying
- Your character must be approved by an administrator in order to roleplay.
- You may not powerplay. The thoughts of other characters is not for you to respond to in your posts, nor may you decide what happens to another person’s characters.
- You may not godmode. Characters are not invincible, and will become hurt. Administrators will never force you to kill your character, but you must play realistically.
- Please do not discuss politics or religion in the cbox, or on the forums. These are topics which quickly offend others, and we do not want drama.
- Please try to be considerate of other players. While healthy debate is welcome, keep your temper in check, and try your best to be understanding.
- Pernese swearing is okay. Real life swearing should be avoided for the most part. We don’t want our forum cluttered with profanity.
- Please try to keep the board PG13; pan to the sky for flights if needed. Not all roleplayers want to read NC17 content. Not to mention it's prohibited by Proboards ToS.
- Running away with threads is decidedly uncool. This term applies to two people back-and-forth posting in group threads. Try not to leave people in your dust.
- Don't double post. Ever. The only and I do mean only exception is in major plots/hatchings/other giant group threads in which you have more than one character, especially if your posts tend to be lengthy. Accidents occasionally happen, but roleplaying with yourself is kind of pathetic.
- Do not nag the administrators / people with queens to post. This is annoying and will make Tiddles shake the stick of adminly wrath at you.
- Our rules and regulations are flexible. We’re not rigid. If you think we’ve said or done something unfair – tell us. But don’t whine. Whining is annoying and will get you smacked.
- We don’t expect novel length posts, but try to give people more than one line to respond to, please.
- Original content on Hidden is not to be reused without the express permission of Neeuqtar and/or the creators, so don’t steal. Plagiarism is both annoying and pathetic.
- Administrators have the final say on all things board-related. Continual arguing will result in Neeuq getting one of those aforementioned catfish, so don’t do it. Also please refrain from excessive whining as this is annoying. We’re trying to be fair to everyone – pay us the same courtesy.
- Flamers will be doused with ice water. This is your only warning.
- Threads that haven't seen a reply in a month or more will be moved to the Midden Heap; if at any point you feel a thread has been unfairly moved, or you still have plans for it, please contact a staff member to discuss the possibility of having it moved back.
Character Creation Rules
- Queen pets require specific approval from an administrator to be created, and all dragon queens must be hatched on Hidden.
- You may start with brown, blue, or green dragons. Any other color must be approved by an administrator prior to your application.
- By making a candidate, you accept that the clutch runner can and will give you whatever they feel that your character deserves. Cookie cutter characters are unacceptable. Make the rider if you feel that strongly.
- Hidden has a very defined storyline and setting. Read it before posting your profile. Administrators will know if you haven’t.
- Characters may not have purple/pink/blue hair, or bizarrely colored eyes. Make sure your appearance is realistic.
- Each character may begin with one pet and one pet only. Some pets are not allowed to be made, so please check.
- You may not begin with a special pet. There'll be Hatchings for all that. (be aware that having a pet of any sort significantly decreases your chances of getting another at a pet Hatching)
- Please do not bring dragons/pets/whers from other websites without permission from the person who created them for you. We don’t want drama with other roleplays.
- You should avoid ending character names with ‘th’ or 'sk' to avoid confusion. Dragon names end in ‘th,’ wher names end in 'sk,' and human names ending that way just cause headaches.
- HADs, or people who can hear all dragons, can be male or female. However, they are not available to be created unless you have plot tokens, and specific administrative approval. This feature will also damage your chances of Impressing metallic dragons or whers. Save us the time – don’t ask unless you really want it for plot purposes.
- The same goes for empaths.
- You have 10 days in which to complete a character and have it approved. Bios that are still incomplete after a 10 day period will be deleted. If you're having issues, discuss it with an admin, but 10 days should be enough time in which to complete a character profile.
- Admins may impose sand dollar* costs for overly dramatic pasts (or anything else on this list). You can change it or take the sand dollar hit.
*You gain a sand dollar every time you post on the IC boards, and the total amount is displayed underneath your name. If we catch you spam-posting to get sand dollars, we WILL take them away!!
If you have any questions, concerns or comments about these rules, please don’t hesitate to send a private message to one of the administrators. We’ll be happy to clarify and maybe even edit if some of these are deemed incredibly unfair. As for the in character rules, they can be found in other threads. Make sure to check them so you’re not caught unaware!
