It is near the end of the 6th Pass. Only a few turns of Threadfall remain. But Pern was devastated by plague not 40 turns ago, leaving the fighting strength greatly diminished. Telgras has survived, well established since the 3rd Pass when the might of dragons required an additional Weyr.
Now is a different time. Weyrwoman Auryn leads Telgras through the final turns of the Pass, not only surviving but thriving, with new dragon colors recently breaking shell.
With a policy of strict isolation, the Weyr has remained forgotten nearly since its beginning.
Will you continue the tradition of remaining secret? Or will you push for contact with the North, to open trade routes? What will you do to push Telgras into the future?
Suddenly, many of the dragons start having nightmares. Nigh terrors more like it, that none but the older riders seem to be able to calm. Any of the younger riders and Weyrlings just fall victims to the nightmares themselves. Feelings of terror and of not being able to flee in time. Fear of seeing thread fall right on top of them with out being able to breath fire or escape. As one can imagine it chills to the bone.
Many of the riders that have been afflicted have had to start taking fellis at night as well as drugging their dragons just to keep them asleep. However, while drugged their dragons can not wake up until the drug wears off. With such problems, most of the young dragons and their handlers have not been able to rise to fight thread when it does fall.
A call for older candidates has been given! With the help of older riders, who can calm their dragons maybe these night terrors will stop, maybe the problem will be solved and everyone can go back to fighting thread, and living their lives.
